November, 2011

Dear Friend of the Arts,

As 2011 draws to a close, the Ouray County Performing Arts Guild is reflecting over the past year and planning for an even more exciting year ahead. Most of all, we are grateful for the wonderful supporters like you who have sustained the performing arts in Ouray County with your generous donations.

With contributions from friends like you, thirteen fine performances, including dance with the David Taylor Dance Theater from Denver ; Central City Opera; and favorites, Trio Solisti and the San Juan Chamber MusicFest, were sponsored this past year. We attracted a sold-out audience with the musical skills of acoustic guitarist Trace Bundy and helped support the 50 th Anniversary of the Ouray County Arts Association with the Sally Shuffield Concert. In addition there were two intimate salons at local homes and a fine fundraising concert, Stonecircle, at the Wright Opera House.

Of these performances, four were delivered in our local schools and virtually all students in the county were presented with fine classical music and, in collaboration with Mt. Sneffels Education Foundation, all the upper and middle school students were acquainted with the skill and enjoyment of opera.

We are pleased to report that OCPAG did end the financial year in the black and awarded a near record scholarship amount to support our young people who are interested in advanced training the performing arts.

The coming year promises to be even more exciting with the acquisition of the Wright Opera House for the community and a wonderful line-up of performances. We are asking for your continued support to make OCPAG even stronger for 2012.

OCPAG understands it is not the only not-for-profit doing great work in our rural part of Colorado , but we hope you feel that your contribution to OCPAG is a good value. We work hard to be worthy of your support in keeping the performing arts alive for all of us.

Please visit our website, www.ocpag.org and, if we do not have your current email address for monthly newsletters, please send it to ocpaginfo@ouraynet.com . All contact information is kept only for OCPAG purposes.

Thank you for your support and consideration. See you at the concert,

Board of Directors: Sue Hillhouse, Mike Kern, John House, Sara Sharpe, Tom Hillhouse, Sally Swartz, Vickie Clark, John Meltzer, Kelvin Kent, Don Reed, Roger Cracraft, Donna Whiskeman, Mariah DeGear, Administrative Assistant
